What this site is

Taper Fade Trends publishes reference material about men’s hair: how cuts are built, what clipper guard lengths mean in millimetres, and how a cut behaves as it grows out. It is editorial content, written to be useful at a barber’s chair.

What it is not

It is not medical advice. Hair loss, scalp conditions, persistent irritation and sudden changes in shedding are matters for a doctor or a dermatologist, not a website. Where we describe what research shows, we are summarising published work, not diagnosing anything.

It is also not a substitute for a barber’s judgement. Guard numbers and taper heights are described here so you can have a clearer conversation, not so you can overrule someone looking directly at your head.

Accuracy

Figures such as growth rate, curl shrinkage and upkeep intervals are typical ranges drawn from published averages. Individual variation is real and often large. We check what we publish and correct it when it is wrong, but we do not warrant that every statement is accurate for every reader.

Using our content
